The candidate must be a young professional working in the field of law: a contributor to the Indian legal ecosystem – general counsel, lawyer, independent practitioner, legal journalist, educator, writer, author, legaltech innovator and others. The age must be less than 30 years from 1 December 2022. The daily routine included high-level panel discussions and opening sessions by leading lawyers on current topics. Mason was selected as a finalist for last year`s Workplace, Health and Safety and Employment and Workplace Relations Awards. He was also a finalist in the Dispute Resolution and Litigation category at this year`s awards. Mason is an exceptional lawyer, a fantastic team player and also a mentor to many of DWF`s lawyers. Reducing the number of submissions to 30 winners was a mammoth task. But the high-level jury made it possible. During the interviews, the jury met with some of the smartest young lawyers in the industry. Each potential winner demonstrated a zeal to excel, as well as a strong work ethic. The panel answered interesting questions for the candidates. While some candidates provided confident and moderate answers, others were a little surprised. On the list of powers, it consists of litigants, in-house lawyers, in-house lawyers and legal influencers. And it`s encouraging to see that 12 influential women have been selected for the first edition of BW Legal World`s 30u30 Awards.

We are sure that this number will continue to increase in the years to come. In the end, the difference between those on the list and those who couldn`t was a slim margin. And yet, I hope you all know that these lists, like so many other awards, are complete and totally absurd. It`s not meant to blow away the amazing people who get this honor, they do wonderful things or have raised a lot of money, or have done incredible feats or have done anything other than their category has awards. What`s ridiculous, however, is that it`s THE THIRTY people who “deserve” this honor or that a definition of your worth depends on how quickly and angry you can do things with when you`re still very young. These are the worst parts of our social media-filled society (she says she`s aware of typing in words while hoping people like this post will sigh) with a dose of age discrimination.

I would also like to congratulate Matthew Giles for the team, which was also a finalist in the Occupational Health and Safety and Disputes categories and in the Dispute Resolution and Litigation categories. Eight years ago today, I was on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in law and politics. An honor, of course, and one that is used again and again in my bios and intros today. Without this honor, it`s unlikely that I got to where I was, that Atlas would have gotten to where it was, and it`s almost certain that people would take me less seriously, as I tend not to seem as serious as you might expect (hint: joy is part of the revolution). Thanks to this honor, I was represented several times in Forbes, I was able to talk about the martyr mentality in nonprofit salaries, Atlas received more funding, and I used the platform to speak publicly about life with a mental diagnosis. I will be eternally grateful to have done so when the list was in its second year and I was still “young enough” to receive it. Learn on the go with our new app. First of all, the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, like so many others around the world, is complete and absolute for baseball. Judges often knew the candidates before the assessment began. The only way to really come before a judge`s eyes is to be appointed by someone who was on the list (and was considered one of the weirdest people), and of course, judges often represent elite circles and worlds that are out of reach for most people. Admittedly, I feel like I could have been one of the fanciest if I had just played more by their rules instead of tearing feathers the way I want to. Back when I was still living in New York City, the distinction of being on the list led me to be invited to so many parties filled with so many “EPIC people” where I was asked to say a few words but I just couldn`t keep my mouth shut. After being presented once too many as someone who “saved little girls from sex trafficking” (not what I did, not the language I would ever use), I admitted that I lost him and called people in their wide-brimmed hats or Buddha beads and, ok, often drank abundantly free-flowing alcohol, which did not help at all.
